Merry Christmas

Lilly's first Christmas was a white one in Vancouver!
We think the Sachs must have brought the snow with them from Wisconsin.
Our Street in Vancouver, Lilly is in the carrier under Kyle's coat.
She loved being outside in the snow, great weather for napping.
Grandma and Grandpa Sachs beaming at their beautiful grand-daughter.
Lilly loved playing with her favorite Aunts, Kristi and Lea.
We had such a great time with The Sachs here. Lilly loved spending quality time with her Aunts and Grandparents.

Winter Wonderland

It snowed all day long today! It is rare to get such great snow here, usually it is very slushy. It felt like we were back home! Lilly braved the cold very well, she definitely has Midwestern blood. She is two months old today. We can't believe how fast she is growing.

The First Eight Weeks

Lillian Charmaine Sachs is born! She was was born on Friday, October 17 at 12:08pm. she weighed in 7 lbs and 10 oz and 22 1/2 inches long! where did she get that height from? she is a healthy girl and in her doctors words "perfect!" we think so too.

Like father like daughter.  One of the first things i noticed about Lilly is her feet.  She has the same gap between her big toe and second toe just like Kyle.  In fact, we think she looks a lot like Kyle, same big cheeks and their hair even grows in the exact same pattern.  What an amazing crazy thing to have a kid and see bits of yourself and know she came from us.

Lilly is a peaceful, beautiful angel when she sleeps but getting her there has been tough for the rookie parents.  The thing is that Lilly hates
her crib.  We have tried all kinds of tricks to get her sleep but the best way to get her to sleep is to put her in the car seat and then in her crib.  It's a bit unconventional but were gonna do what works cuz we need our sleep and so does Lilly.

Lilly had her first "on purpose" smile at six weeks.  It was so great to see that big gummy smile.  A bit of affirmation that she likes us too. We love her so much and seeing that smile and coo makes me think she likes her life so far.

Proud Grandparents

Grandma and Grandpa Clarke visited the first week and Grandma Sachs came to visit week number two.  It was so great to have the help! It was so sad for them to leave.  All the grandparents are very proud of their first grandchild.
